Effect of porous partition height on thermal performance of a ventilated cavity using LBMMRT

The objective of this work is to study the effect thickness a porous separation on thermal performance in cavity with displacement ventilation. cold air jet enters and exits through two openings located lower upper parts left wall right respectively. other horizontal walls are also adiabatic. hydrodynamic characteristics transfer were studied for three configurations same aspect ratio L/H=2. height Hp was varied between 0.2 0.8 where placed center cavity. rates active thicknesses different permeability therefore Darcy numbers varying over an interval:10 -6 ≤Da≤10. dimensionless Rayleigh Reynolds taken from rows: 10≤Ra≤10 6 50≤Re≤500. governing equations momentum energy solved by Lettice Boltzmann Multiple Relaxation Time Method (LB-MRT) D2Q9 velocity field D2Q5 temperature field. In order take into account introduction medium, additional term added standard LB based generalized model (Darcy extended Brinkman-Forchheimer).
